This weekend I was in Szeged, Hungary for a seminar together with Sveneric Bogsäter. There was around 35 people from Hungary, Serbia, Croatia and Iran. The weather was not always good, but who cares when you're training inside anyway.

I mostly tried my best to teach the basics of this years theme, taijutsu and hanbo, plus a litle jojutsu. Unfortunately I couldn't be there to the end, so right before I had to go to the airport I confused everyone (I think?) by mixing the basic techniques with each other, for example starting with kubiwa and do the same finish as suiyoku but on the other side, then starting with suiyoku and finish it as kubiwa but mirrored on the other side... funny :-)

Sveneric was amazing as always, he did variations but he often stressed the fundamentals. That you should focus on the things that makes the technique work, the kata is not so important as the fundamentals. He is absolutely correct, you should try to find out the knack (koppo) of all techniques you work on.
